David Bridger

David Bridger

David graduated from McGill Dental School in Montreal in 1975, and had a private practice in Montreal, Quebec for two years. He then attended the University of Washington for a masters in Prosthodontics. David have mentored numerous study clubs and given many lectures throughout British Columbia. Implantology now makes up the bulk of his practice.

In his presentation, David will provide a variety of practical tips mostly to do with implant restorative procedures that he has acquired over the past 30 years of restoring implants.

Mr Julian Daffy

Mr Julian Daffy

With over twenty years of experience in Australian Pharmacies, Julian has seen many ideas and products come and go in this constantly changing industry.

Currently an owner of five pharmacies in multiple states, Julian still works as a retail pharmacist on a regular basis and has a special interest in the management and treatment of infectious disease.

The recent pharmaceutical advances in the treatment of Hepatitis C and HIV represent a paradigm shift in these conditions. What are the dental implications for these advances and how do they change the way practitioners treat their patients?

In his presentation, Julian will discuss pharmaceutical treatments for Hepatitis C and both the prevention and treatment of HIV. He will also cover the dental implications of other commonly prescribed medications.

Mr David Daly

Mr David Daly

David Daly is a graduate of Melbourne University Medical School. After obtaining his FANZCA he undertook a Fellowship at Papworth Hospital, Cambridge, U.K. He returned to Melbourne to take a position at Alfred Hospital as a full-time consultant anaesthetist. His clinical responsibilities encompass all areas of adult cardiothoracic anaesthesia, including cardiothoracic transplantation, mechanical cardiac assistance, pulmonary thrombendarterectomy and interventional cardiology, he was part of a small team that developed Australia’s first transcatheter aortic valve implantation program. He has a particular interest in haematologic aspects of cardiothoracic surgery and infection prevention in cardiac surgery. He is the current ANZCA Robin Smallwood Bequest recipient for a project aiming to optimise antibiotic prophylaxis during cardiac surgery.

He is a current member of the Alfred Hospital Senior Medical Staff Executive, a member of the Alfred Hospital Infection Prevention Committee, ex-chair and current member of the ANZCA Cardiothoracic Vascular and Perfusion Special Interest Group. Until this year he was the Australian representative on the International Committee of the Society of Cardiovascular Anesthesiologists.

In private practice he has a long association with plastic surgery, ophthalmology and medico-legal work.

Dr Faraj Edher

Dr Faraj Edher

Dr Faraj Edher is a Specialist in Prosthodontics. He received his dental degree from the University of Sharjah College of Dental Medicine, and then continued his Masters in Craniofacial Science and post-graduate specialty training in Prosthodontics at the University of British Columbia. He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Dentists of Canada, and an active member of the American College of Prosthodontists, Association of Prosthodontists of Canada, and the Canadian Association of Restorative Dentistry and Prosthodontics. He has founded, co-founded, and is actively involved with several international dental associations, and has represented Canadian dentists and dental students at multiple international platforms.

Dr Edher regularly gives presentations, seminars, and workshops, both locally and globally, on a range of different topics. These topics include generalized and specialized presentations related to Prosthodontics; more specifically focusing on digital dentistry, implant dentistry, treatment planning, and aesthetic rehabilitation. Dr Edher also conducts seminars and workshops on Education and Career Options in North America; and training in Leadership and Management. His current clinical and research interests are focused on complex implant reconstructions, aesthetic rehabilitations, and the applications of digital technology in dentistry.

In addition to practicing full time with BC Perio in Vancouver and Coquitlam, Dr Edher is a Clinical Assistant Professor and guest lecturer at the University of British Columbia, and has numerous publications in areas such as dental implants and digital dentistry.

Mr Chris Evan

Mr Chris Evan

Dr Evans graduated from the University of Queensland with first class honours. After 3 years as a dentist in the Royal Australian Navy, and as a general dentist on the Mornington Peninsula, he completed a Master of Dental Science degree in Prosthodontics at Melbourne University, leading to registration as a specialist prosthodontist. He has been in specialist Private Prosthodontic Practice in Brighton, Victoria since 1997.

Dr Evans is a full member of the Australian and New Zealand Academy of Prosthodontists and has lectured extensively in Australia and Overseas on dental implant as well as reconstructive dentistry. He is a Member of the Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons and is sought as a presenter having received awards for presentations at international meetings.

Dr Evans has been actively involved in clinical research projects relating to dental implants, ranging from multi-centre international research projects to local research projects.

As well as being very active in the dental community, Dr Evans has many sporting and outdoor interests. He has completed 2 Ironman triathlons, 4 Half Ironman events and 2 Alpine MTB endure events. He also enjoys spending time with his family & children.

Dr Ben Keith

Dr Ben Keith is the Senior National Dental Professional Officer at the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency, an examiner for the Australian Dental Council and has a 30 year career in dentistry in Australia, the UK and Myanmar in a range of public and private settings.

Dr Kurien Mamootil

Dr Kurien Mamootil

Dr Kurien Mamootil completed his undergraduate training in Dentistry in 1994 and his specialist training in Endodontics from the University of Melbourne in 2004. He has also completed his Fellowship with the Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons.

Kurien has served as a clinical demonstrator and Examiner in the Specialist endodontic training program at the University of Melbourne and an examiner in Endodontics for the Australian Dental Council and a clinical demonstrator in Endodontics at La Trobe University. He has been actively involved with the Australian Society of Endodontology serving as President of the society from 2012-2014. Kurien maintains Specialist Endodontic practice in Geelong and Werribee in Victoria. He is actively involved in continuing education in Endodontics and has presented domestically and internationally.

Consultant Craniofacial Surgeon, Alder Hey Children’s Hospital, Liverpool UK

Mr Robertson graduated from the University of Queensland Dental School in 2002. After 2 years of general dental practice, he was accepted into the Victorian OMS Training Programme in 2005 completing medical school in 2008. He then rotated through hospitals in Melbourne and Brisbane completing his FRACDS(OMS) in 2013. In 2014 he returned to Melbourne to complete his Orthognathic Surgery Fellowship at the Royal Melbourne Hospital. In 2015, Ben relocated to Liverpool, UK where he undertook his Craniofacial Fellowship at the renowned Alder Hey Children’s Hospital. During this time he was also successful in attaining his Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons of England. Since then he had held a full time Craniofacial Consultant position at Alder Hey focussing on transcranial surgery, midfacial distraction and complex orthognathic surgery.

Dr Harry Vlachodimitropoulos completed his Bachelor of Dental Science at The University of Melbourne in 1990 and practised general dentistry on the Mornington Peninsula. In 1995 he completed his specialist training in Prosthodontics at The University of Melbourne. He has since been in private specialist practice in Hawthorn East and Frankston. He regularly gives lectures to the dental profession and is a clinical demonstrator at The University of Melbourne in the Prosthodontic specialist program.

Mr Richard Wood

Mr Richard Wood

Mr Richard Wood, Principal Surgeon at SurfCoast OMS (Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons) of central Geelong. Following completion of Dental and Medical studies in Brisbane in 2003, relocation with family to Victoria allowed OMS specialty training to be completed in 2009. Richard has had a longstanding commitment to the Victorian OMS Specialty with a Consultant role at the Royal Melbourne Hospital and progressive private practice development in Geelong. Recent commitment to Geelong has been strengthened with an expanded practice in Geelong and as Head of OMS Unit, University Hospital Geelong since 2014.

His surgical interests include facial trauma and orthognathic surgery with special emphasis on Obstructive Sleep Apnoea and related conditions. Dental Implant treatment has expanded in recent years to an emphasis on full arch transitions including Zygomatic fixture placement for All-on-4 treatment options. His current focus relates to the contemporary transition to a digitized workflow for orthognathic and implant treatments but continues to cater to the broad range of management of conditions in the Maxillofacial region.
